At our Little Explorers Royal George Road nursery,we create a home-from-home environment where your child will feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Our experienced practitioners will take the time to understand your child’s unique personality, planning activities around their interests to ensure higher engagement and better developmental outcomes.
As well as a host of stimulating indoor resources, we have a well-equipped outdoor space offering plenty of opportunity for physical activity and exploration.
Children can also take part in a range of extra-curricular activities throughout the year such as Forest School, baby massage, gardening club, Sticky Kids wake up and shake up and ProTot Sports.
We are an inclusive setting with an on-site Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator, and a sensory room with a wide range of resources. We are also culturally diverse, with lots of resources to support children who speak English as an Additional Language.

Rooms

The Baby Snug (6 – 18 months)
Our baby room is a cosy and calming environment with lots of soft furnishings, where your child can safely explore a variety of sensory play resources and activities that promote their all-round development.
This includes story and song times using Makaton sign language, baby massage and lots of outdoor play.
At all times they are supported by their key worker, who monitors their progress, supports their play and maintains their usual daytime routine.
The Toddler Den (18 months – 3 years)
In our toddler den we use children’s natural curiosity and love of exploration to engage them in learning through play.
Your child will have access to plenty of books, puppets and props in our inviting reading area to re-enact and extend popular stories and nursery rhymes, or perhaps even make up their own.
In our role play area we have dressing up clothes and a raft of ‘real world’ resources that will enable your child to explore what they know and understand about the world around them. They will also play alongside, and with other children, developing those all-important personal, social and communication skills at the same time.

The Preschool Study (3 – 5 years)
In our preschool study your child will be encouraged to gradually gain greater independence in preparation for starting school.
Our practitioners will engage your child in activities that will help them understand their own and other people’s emotions, that will develop their communication and language skills, extend their numeracy knowledge, practice their mark-making skills, and improve their self-regulation.
They will have open access to our outdoor sensory herb garden and can choose their own resources throughout the day. They will also take part in short group sessions, like circle time, to get them used to how they will be taught in school.
The Toddler Den (18 months – 3 years)
