Our Preschool children have had a wonderful time visiting the local residents’ care home for a special Easter egg hunt! 🥚✨ The eggs were carefully hidden throughout the home, and the children followed a series of fun clues and helpful directions from both their teachers and the lovely residents. After excitedly gathering their eggs, the children counted them up annd even showed their kind hearts by sharing some with the residents 💛![]()

This experience offered so many valuable learning opportunities. The children practised their listening and problem-solving skills as they followed clues, used early maths by counting and comparing their eggs, and developed their social and emotional skills through meaningful interactions with the older generation. It was a beautiful way to build empathy, confidence, and community spirit! 🌼![]()

This week at Little Explorers Janes Lane, we’ve been having a fantastic time learning all about the incredible life cycles of different animals!🌱![]()

We began by exploring the transformation of caterpillars into beautiful butterflies. The children loved reading the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar and creating their own vibrant butterfly artwork. 🦋🎨![]()

Next, we made a splash in the water tray while discovering the life cycle of frogs. Our little learners were fascinated by how tadpoles grow and change into frogs! 🐸💦![]()

And the excitement didn’t stop there! We were delighted to welcome some fluffy new friends – baby chicks hatched this week. The children were captivated by their cuteness and learned all about the chick life cycle up close. 🐥💛![]()

Our children and the residents had a fantastic time participating in a biscuit decorating competition! They shared ideas about different colours and designs, carefully choosing shaped and colourful sprinkles to create their masterpieces. ![]()

Seeing the children confidently chatting about their interests and favourite colours was wonderful while building lovely connections with the residents. Once their biscuits were complete, they admired each other’s designs before enjoying them as a delicious morning snack! ![]()

Our Little Explorers have been captivated by learning about Ramadan and the values it promotes, such as self-discipline, kindness and empathy. Through various hands-on activities, we explored this special time of year in a meaningful and engaging way.![]()

The children got creative in cooking club with Jo, making hummus and chopping up fresh vegetables. They also crafted beautiful lanterns, practiced henna designs and enjoyed a delicious cauliflower curry. Looking at pictures of mosques, they discovered more about their architecture and cultural significance.![]()

In the garden, we used coloured rice to practice writing the first letter of our names in Arabic, strengthening both fine motor and early literacy skills.![]()

Our toddlers have been enjoying trips out into the local community, visiting the library to explore different books and stories. During their visit, the library manager read a selection of books to the children, making storytime an exciting and interactive experience!![]()

The first book they enjoyed was Norman’s New Home, where the toddlers took turns turning the pages and naming different images they discovered along the way. Afterwards, they listened to Zoom, Zoom, Zoom. A fun story about an exciting space adventure! 🚀🌟![]()

Once storytime was over, each child could walk up to the library manager and choose a book from her special book box for independent reading. This was a wonderful way to encourage a love for books and give children the freedom to explore stories that captured their interest.![]()
